Standards and Quality
Unité's role is to ensure the quality of its member organisations' personnel development cooperation assignments. Together with our members, we continuously work to develop and strengthen our development cooperation programmes. In order to ensure that the placements have a positive impact on the population in the Global South as well as in the society of the North, while also being beneficial for the professional volunteer, Unité's member organisations are supported by a quality management system.
All Unité member organisations must comply with Unité's Quality Standards for Personnel Development Cooperation. These standards and criteria guarantee the relevance and quality of the assignments. Unité's Quality Management Commission continuously updates the Unité standards, whose compliance is regularly monitored and verified through external experts. In addition, external experts periodically conduct impact analyses in Switzerland and in the countries of assignment in order to assess the impact of those organisations, which receive a programme contribution from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Unité's quality guarantee system is recognised by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
➡️ The current Quality Standards for Personnel Development Cooperation are only available in German and French.
